How long from order to installation?

Most custom orders are manufactured and installed within two to three weeks. Simple roller and cellular shades often land closer to ten days; shutters and custom drapery can run four to six weeks because they are built to your exact opening.

How long does installation take?

A typical home of eight to twelve windows is completed in a single visit of two to four hours. Whole-home shutter projects may need a second day.

Do I need to be home for the installation?

Someone over eighteen should be present to let the installer in and approve the finished work. You do not need to supervise — most customers carry on with their day.

Will installation make a mess?

Our installers work on drop cloths, drill with dust collection where possible, and vacuum every work area before leaving. You should not be cleaning up after us.

What if a blind does not fit on installation day?

It is rare because we measure ourselves, but if anything is off we remake it at our cost under the perfect-fit guarantee. You are never left with a covering that does not fit.

Are your blinds safe for children?

Yes. We default to cordless or motorized operation on every quote for homes with children or pets, in line with Health Canada corded window covering regulations. Exposed pull cords and inner cords are the recognised strangulation hazard, and cordless lift designs remove them entirely.

What does Canada require for corded blinds?

Health Canada regulations restrict corded window coverings sold in Canada, effectively requiring that new blinds not have accessible hazardous cords. Everything we install meets current Canadian requirements.

What is the safest option for a nursery?

A motorized cordless blackout shade. There is nothing for a child to reach, and full darkness meaningfully improves infant sleep. It is the single most common nursery request we fill.

Can you make my existing blinds safer?

We can add cord cleats and tension devices to some existing installations, but retrofits are a mitigation, not a fix. If you have young children and looped cords, replacing with cordless is the genuinely safe answer.

Cordless designs remove the loops pets tangle in and chew. For determined cats, we also suggest a top-down/bottom-up configuration that keeps the fabric above jumping height.

What warranty comes with my order?

All hardware and mechanisms carry a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Motors and electronics are covered for five years, fabrics for three years against defects, and our installation workmanship is guaranteed for as long as you own the covering.

Normal wear, sun fading beyond the fabric rating, accidental damage, pet damage, and failures caused by improper cleaning are excluded. We will always tell you honestly whether a repair falls inside warranty.

How do I clean my blinds?

Dust regularly with a microfibre cloth or a vacuum brush attachment. Spot-clean fabric shades with mild soap and cool water, blotting rather than scrubbing. Wipe faux-wood and composite shutters with a damp cloth. Never soak cellular shades or machine-wash any shade fabric.

How long do motorized blind batteries last?

Rechargeable lithium battery wands typically run nine to eighteen months per charge depending on how often the shade cycles. Hardwired and solar-charged options remove charging altogether.

Can you service blinds you did not install?

Often yes, if parts are still available for the mechanism. Send us a photo of the headrail and we will tell you quickly whether a repair is realistic.

Does motorization need wiring?

Not usually. Most of what we install is battery or rechargeable-motor driven, so there is no electrician and no wall damage. Hardwired power is an option in new builds and renovations where walls are already open.

Yes. Our motorized systems integrate with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit through a bridge, so you get voice control, schedules, and scenes alongside the remote.
